Venice Italy Part 2

This is our second day in Venice. We had buffet breakfast in the garden of the guesthouse. The so call "buffet breakfast" had different type of breads, jams, butters, cheese and bacon. Last night was cold. In Europe, we did not go out at night because we were not so familiar there and we both actually did not like night life. Therefore, we always went to bed early, to ensure we both were energetic for the next day itinerary. This photo, we took it near our guesthouse. Well, it's rare for us to use tripod. Previously, when we were in Rome, we did not even have a chance to take photo so, due to the insecure feeling in Rome.

We planned to pay a visit to Piazza San Marco again. We dropped by a lot of shops while we were on our way. Apparently, Venice really relies on the tourism industry here: besides restaurants, the rest are souvenirs shops. ALl of a sudden, I found a special shop. In front of the shop, stood a "witch". There was a big fat cat at the window. The color of the cat looks exceptionally match with the shop's decoration. The feeling given was ~ mysterious.

The cat is really cool. No matter how I tried, he still sat there.

Venice, is known as "City of Bridges". Every buildings are connected by bridges.

Photobucket

If you find a shop, that must be a souvenirs shop.

Romantic gondola. The gondoliers there wear uniform. A gondola with 11 m in length and 1.42 m in width, cost approaching Euro 25k.

It's really relax, another photo of us. We came to the narrowest point of the Grand Canal, again: In front of Rialdo Bridge.

Souvenirs stalls along the Rialdo Bridge.

Poety and pictureque of the "City of Water".

Photobucket

You can see a lot of arch bridges here.

You see, there's no any cars. This is the heaven for pedestrians. By the way, we were lost. Cool!We did not looks nervous even though we were lost because we had a compass with us ~

Relax, romantic......the best place for Honey Moon.

Suggestions:
1) Taking water bus is not a must in Venice. You wan try walking in Venice, it can be relax.
2) If you take gondola, the fee is quite costly (about Euro73 for 50 minutes ride), unless your ultimate purpose is just to try it out.
3) There are some other water transport, for example: Vaporetto.
4) Avoid bringing too much luggage firstly because it will be a hindrance in this car-less city (you will have to carry it yourself) and secondly because you'll want space for souvenirs.

Vaporetto.
